Very true. The media and pundits very much love Everton, Fulham, West Ham and Wolves this summer. Licking their lips over their marque signings, 'names', reacting to their huge spending. I'd love it if their lazy correlation of a summer's transfer fee spending and ensuing final league...

£100m of new TV money per season, which has to cover transfer and agents fees, new player PL level wages and huge pay rises to the existing squad. Brighton spent about half of it on fees, whereas Fulham are looking to double that on fees alone. Something doesn't tally financially.

Fulham take their transfer spending this summer to over £75m, with more to come. To contrast, I think we spent £40m last summer. (The PL broadcasting deal is no greater now). Fulham and Wolves really going for it. It will be interesting to see of this approach keeps them out of the...

Yes, they failed to pay local traders and HMRC in a big way = negligent. The latest legal incarnation of CPFC hasn't learnt those lessons and is desparately throwing huge sums at players and other clubs.
