Not a contradiction as I drive to the speed limit but in so doing may veer slightly above it but not by as much as 10mph or so unless overtaking for a very short distance..

It goes through too many junctions to villages to allow speeding. I drive to the speed limit or just above so not a slow driver. I presume you are one of those idiots that drive at 90mph then slam your brakes on when you see a speed camera.

So it should be as the A24 isnt good enough for it to be another Silverstone and IMHO should have average speed cameras along every length of dual carriageway along it.

I read that they didnt have the resources or equipment to enforce such a low speed limit.

The ones on the A24 serve neither purpose as people speed up to it, slam their brakes on to go past the camera then speed again to do the same at the next one down the road

Still raises the old argument what are the cameras for safety or raise money ?

sorry didnt make it clear the 2 cameras would operate as average speed cameras on that stretch of road.

I have often wondered why they do not remove the cameras on the A24 near Dial Poast and replace them with a camera 100yds south of the Bucks Barn Traffic lights and 1 a 100 yards north pf the Washington round about as I am sure that they would get a lot of people with a large amount of money...
