[Albion] £2m bid rejected by Sunderland for Paddy McNair

We supposedly offered £3.75m for what appears a decent player so for another £1.25m, I suppose it may just have been amusing to have done a ' Norwich ' on Boro :) !

[Albion] £2m bid rejected by Sunderland for Paddy McNair

Anyone feel he ( PMcN ) would have been worth a punt at not much more than we reputedly offered ?

[Albion] £2m bid rejected by Sunderland for Paddy McNair

Perhaps not as it appears that his scoring record towards the end of the season saw him in an attacking midfield role where he scored five in not very many matches for SAFC. Maybe CH is looking at him in that role or, alternatively, he is not considering him any further ?

[Albion] £2m bid rejected by Sunderland for Paddy McNair

Some may not have seen PM playing, he suffered an ACL injury and came back into the SAFC side during last season, having been reinvented as an AM. Look at this video AFTER 1.25 minutes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRsYo5bPf5k

[Albion] £2m bid rejected by Sunderland for Paddy McNair

Perhaps we haven't handled this one very well, having gone in ultra low initially and having not substantially improved on that original bid. Having failed to cut this one 'dead' , we are now in the situation that multiple clubs are now apparently interested in signing PMcN in a situation which...

[Albion] £2m bid rejected by Sunderland for Paddy McNair

Apparently he was featuring as an AM since he came back from injury hence he scored 5 in 6 at the end of the SAFC season !

[Albion] £2m bid rejected by Sunderland for Paddy McNair

C----- it would be sad if we couldn't drag that one over the line given Championship opposition (esp Derby) ! It seems we could close this out for perhaps £1m more.

See the last tweet below ! Keith Downie ‏ Verified account @SkySports_Keith Follow Follow @SkySports_Keith More Sunderland have turned down a second bid from Brighton for midfielder Paddy McNair - this time for £3.5m. Further to this we’re told Sunderland have also turned down a bid of £3.75m...

[Albion] £2m bid rejected by Sunderland for Paddy McNair

It is suggested on Twitter that the club in question was the Arse. I think that if we really wanted him he would probably come here rather than bench warm at the Emirates !

[Albion] £2m bid rejected by Sunderland for Paddy McNair

Maybe the Albion didn't do itself justice by making what perhaps might generally be considered as a 'cheeky bid' I fully understand that the guy has been unfortunate with injuries over the past two years ( although PS and the team have obviously taken that into account in even making an...
