Almost 20 years ago I bought a sofa from IKEA and only had a little car - delivery was going to be £40 and in a week's time, but next to the delivery desk they had a taxi phone and a line of people carriers and small vans waiting outside.
I paid about £30 and raced the sofa the 10 miles home!
Easy fix - take the roof off at the top of each wall, then poke a long stick down to knock off the bits of mortar. You could even shove a long rasp down there to shave the bricks down and make the gap bigger.
Five minute job.
I live in a newish house built on a greenfield site. Local people campaigned against the development, saying it would block their lovely view of the valley, which it did.
I have a lovely view of the valley from my house.
