All that, and they probably worked out that the traffic on the A27 will be an absolute nightmare once it's built, which would deter customers going there in the first place.
How times change. We bought ours about 8 years ago, just after they had started, had to travel to Stevenage for the nearest showroom. They we’re outstandingly good, bang on time with deliveries, exceptional quality, and the kitchen fitter we employed to install it said they were pretty much the...
I do use the steyning bypass, and get on the A27 at shoreham, the queue in towards Lancing is bearable, but it’s the queue the other way that is a farce, every morning the queue joins up all the way to Swandean on the other side of Worthing, all because of the Sussex Pad lights. If they weren’t...
To be fair, it's the hold ups in the other direction that are far worse than the lights to Grinstead lane, all caused by the cumulative bottlenecks of the roundabout and the lights. .
Well, as someone who sits in the traffic every morning I shall be delighted when the new roundabout has been built and the lights removed then if you think it will be an improvement.
With more than 50% of the commercial vehicles (Articulated trucks, lorries, vans, and staff commuting) heading...
It's pretty straight forward driving north or west out of Worthing at that time, so long as you plan to keep going north, or West at the A27. If you are ultimately heading East then you're going to get caught up in the mess that is the Lyons Farm/Grinstead lane roundabout/Sussex pad traffic...
Fair enough, I love the way they conveniently just crop off the roundabout for Grinstead lane on that plan. That roundabout is carnage every morning and evening, and for long periods during the day, partly as it is the main route for commercial vehicles being directed to the Lancing Business...
No reference to those lights that I can see. There is to be a new roundabout but that isn’t as far down as the airport lights, it’s around the location of the traveller site unless I’ve misunderstood something, which if I have I apologise.
Of course, a new roundabout with 400 odd dwellings...
If there is a housing problem why haven’t they built a few hundred residences at Tevill Gate? It’s been available for development for over 20 years, is on a brownfield site, and has excellent rail and road connections.
But they have said to hat those lights will not be removed, now, or in the future, probably down to sway the lardy- dahs at Lancing Collage have, or someone at the airport pulling the strings, or both, otherwise those lights would have been long gone.
*to clarify, I’m referring to the Lancing...
And how many new houses will they be building? Will they be car free homes? I doubt it, just more grist to the mill. Listen to the morning traffic news for Sussex, EVERY SINGLE DAY that stretch of road is reported as being backed up for miles, it is only going to get worse.
As someone who has to drive to work that way every day, traffic’s already a nightmare, and there’s no way this is going to make it anything but worse, it’s a no from me.
