    I was on a case where the foreman had a bout of nerves and when the judge asked if we had reached a decision on which we all agreed said “yes”. A few seconds of silence then a few of us said “no we haven’t” because we hadn’t! There was a retrial (not because of the foreman’s error).

    Joking apart, if you are on the jury googling a case, defendant, etc is a criminal offence. At Hove courts if someone wants a ciggy during deliberations you all have to go with them but you’re not allowed to use the canteen/cafe cos it’s used by relatives, friends of defendant, yet you can go...

    It’s very interesting but be careful what you wish for. Cases involving kids, abuse, etc can be very upsetting
