    [Drinking] What pub is this?

I think he was taking a picture of his pride and joy . . . . . . which upset his daughter who was sitting on the bonnet of it . . .

    [Drinking] What pub is this?

Skipper374 has nailed it - both in terms of finally identifying the pub AND in looking really cool in this picture - strangely apt on the day we lose Peter Wyngarde. I now declare this thread well and truly closed - thank you and goodnight (How do I turn off notifications )

    [Drinking] What pub is this?

I’m happy for admins to close it and I’ll just post the definitive answer when/if it arrives. Like others I get rather excited when I’m notified of a new post.

I know - and it seemed such an innocent request at the time :lolol:

    [Drinking] What pub is this?

The owner of the MG says they used to go to the Swan at Arundel (on the Chi road) a lot. Can’t get a pick of back car park from the 80s online. Any investigators in the area? ;)

    [Drinking] What pub is this?

Two people saying it's the back of the Black Lion. That kind of makes sense if he's 'mis-remembering'. All we need is somebody out that way to get a pic . . . .

    [Drinking] What pub is this?

I don't actually know the owner of the MG - as originally stated I was 'asking for a friend'. The MG owner is convinced it's the Black Rabbit but we've already answered that one I reckon.

    [Drinking] What pub is this?

Crikey - this has grown legs. I do appreciate the interest. It still drives me mad and I'm looking at pubs in the area like I've never looked before. I'm pretty sure it's the back of a hotel or golf club as has been mentioned previously. I guess it'll be one of those unsolved mysteries.

    [Drinking] What pub is this?

Thanks for the interest in this detective drama. I’ve sought the owner’s permission to publish the whole picture. Please excuse the poor photoshopping. And yes, I think the original picture is a bit creased hence the kink in the roof line.

    The Bridge? Don’t think so.

    [Drinking] What pub is this?

Indeed it does. Of course, the picture could be the car park round the back of whatever pub it is which isn’t going to come up on a Google image search too much. Bloody hell.

    [Drinking] What pub is this?

Quick update: the owner of the MG says (along with others on here) that it’s The Black Rabbit in Arundel. Still don’t believe it and think he’s ‘mis-remembering’ (horrible term). I feel like Quincy MD. ‘This was no simple heart attack’ etc etc.

    [Drinking] What pub is this?

The owner of the MG and the person who is receiving the ‘then & now’ gift are from Brighton. Not much help. Soz.

    [Drinking] What pub is this?

No. And nobody on Facebook has been able to tell him either. He wants to reproduce the picture for a gift. He’ll be pleased about the response on here though. ;)
