This!! No doubt I’m once again going to waste the afternoon fruitlessly searching for this elusive boozer.

In the original picture the extension extends beyond the front of the main building, the opposite of your picture.

If it’s the Black Lion at Patcham, i’ll save you the wait, it’s not right. Here’s a photo of the Church Hill entrance.

The building isn’t fat fronted, the single storey section on the left sticks out further than the main building.

Probably because it’s now a McDonald’s. It’s not the White Lion as it was either.

The White Hart is timber framed so, no.

If you look closely at the single storey to the left, it actually sticks out way further than the building with even rarer windows to its right. This confused me for ages until I realised as it's not initially obvious. It also appears to have been a pub with a curved drive around a patio area...

Windows are completely wrong in both number and style. :(

Funnily enough, thinking along the same lines, I spent a couple of hours checking out pubs in Kent near to the Sussex border yesterday. Without success.

Red Lion? I know I’ve been away from Sussex for some years but that rings no bells. Did you mean the Black Lion? Which unfortunately clearly isn’t the pub in question. :(

No way is it the Black Rabbit. Windows & roof line are totally wrong and there’s nowhere near enough space for a car to be parked at right angles to the road. The search goes on...

He's been tied up fishing the Hampshire Avon down here in Christchurch today - he blanked BTW. :)

The Quarry Inn was closed back in 84 and demolished to make way for four houses.
