my simple understanding of German politics is that Merkel is leader because people cant abide the alternatives. not so say there aren't capable other just none that can amass sufficient support. and CDU will still be the largest party after any election, so unless they recover a lot of seats...

only it seems by redefining the word. and if you want to accept that redefinition, no one can ever be racist (you cant be against something that doesn't exist, right?). or you could see the contradiction in the article, the presence of cultural racism as a separate form.
