After a couple of shaky moments in his first games, Ryan has put in three successive faultless performances, and tops the Premier League stats for catches. How can Krul's display be a 'vast improvement' on that?
I also heard that Krul played very well, and I'm a fan of his - just don't...
Ryan WAS reported in the media as our 'record signing' with the 'undisclosed' fee being reported variously between £3.5m and €5.3m.
The club have since contradicted that though. In their transfer round up of the window, they clearly state that the club's transfer record was broken TWICE during...
A bit, yes.
But spence's main issue with Ryan's height seems to be in relation to his ability to command his area and come for crosses (a worry disproved by the stats).
Those are not great examples, to be honest - mankind is growing. They WERE still quite 'tall' in relation to the other players on the pitch. Footballers on the whole now are bigger and stronger.
Iker Casillas is an inch shorter than Ryan. Use him instead
You are. It is only possible because we held his registration (on loan) at the time the window closed.
Clubs signing a player on loan right at the end of a window, because the terms couldn't all be thrashed out in time, then firming it up later, isn't that uncommon.
At just over 6 foot, he's an inch taller than Iker Casillas. His height really isn't a huge issue (other than for perception).
I didn't go to the Amex friendly, but yes the goal he conceded in that was really poor. The Dunk header v Man City took him by surprise, but I'll agree it was...
I like Krul, and if he plays better than either of our other keepers, happy days. Your assessment of Ryan seems rather harsh and unnecessarily early. He let in a soft goal at Leicester and has been pretty much faultless in three matches since. He leads the 'catches' stats of all keepers in the...
