Are we really comparing Delaney with Paddy McNair?

We were interested in him yes, and have submitted bids this window and last summer. I would think the attraction of Dortmund far outweighed any problem we had with the fee. Yes he would have improved the squad and first team considerably. Yes he's better than Rohan Ince and Steve Sidwell.

We can't expect to be able to play Stephens Propper in almost every game again. We need a quality alternative. Horses for courses also, I would expect to have Delaney Stephens for the tougher games and Propper played more at home.

I agree. However, IF we were to sign Delaney or someone very similar (Neto etc..) I would expect to see Stephens/Delaney shielding our back line much more often than we are likely to see Propper/Stephens or Propper/Delaney simply because of how CH wants us to play. Maybe we'll change formation...

Where has he played as a sitting midfielder, other than here? Perhaps you missed the interview for BHA where he stated where we play him is not a position he is used to and has had to adapt. For me, he needs to play further forward.

I don't think you understood his point. 4 players for 3 places in the side with Kayal as cover. Propper is a converted 10 pretty much and CH likes to play with 2x sitting midfielders. Gives us plenty of options and won't be the same midfield every week as we are used to.

Deeply concerning if our first choice RB going into the new season is Schelotto. He's had some great moments, but the bad ones have been getting the basics wrong time and time again. He's much more a wing back/right midfield for me so unless we change formation I'd like to see another RB added.

Yep, been saying this a while. We would still need another midfielder though (in addition to Delaney).

If you believe the papers we are still tracking him and had a 10M bid rejected earlier this month. Since then there's been a load more reported interest from other clubs, but German reports say he wants a PL move.

I'd rather be in that camp than the broken record crew or the insipidly ****ing boring crew. Perhaps they think he is a good player and a good fit and talk about him because we are quite obviously still interested in him. :rolleyes:

Like I said earlier, Delaney fits the bill. Also gives us the option of playing Propper behind the striker sometimes and giving Gross a rest. If we can fish out an early signing before the WC inflation then I hope it's this one.

I wouldn't believe believe everything you hear, even if you consider them knowledgeable. I've watched him a number of times. He is uncompromising, committed, and a massive threat at set pieces. Also has a knack of timing runs into the box. He fits the bill. How much would you consider a 2-3...
