Unfortunately the horrific and tragic events today have overshadowed the reopening of Borough Market. As a local resident at London Bridge, the horrid, despicable events here have hit me hard. I popped in on my way home tonight. Unbelievably busy, at 8:30 on a Wednesday night. If I knew how to...
Quite extraordinary video doing the rounds on social media (and The Sun) of the moment the attackers were dealt with by the police. Starts off with the 3 strolling around the market, then setting upon a member of the public, before seeing police, trying to flee, then charging the police who...
I think 3 French, 1 Spanish at this stage (Ignacio of HSBC referenced above). To emphasise your point, I think only the Canadian was a tourist. The rest were residents.
I was thinking along these lines earlier but had the counter thought of, for the missing at least, it is their next of kin who are reaching out saying they are missing. I was thinking along the same lines as you, but was unsure how the two correlated.
I think I may unfortunately be mistaken and we both may be right. The latest victim to be named, another Frenchman, was not one of the names I gave earlier.
Was going to write this earlier but decided against it, but given the above I am more inclined to speculate. A number of eye witnesses...
Read somewhere that the coroner report wasn't going to start until today, so the dead won't begin to be formally identified until today. Presumably next of kin aren't informed until once coroner report is complete, or beyond any doubt whatsoever. Canadian lady's name presumably released early as...
Sky News reporting police found Molotov cocktails in the back of the van.
Makes you wonder if crashing the van was unintentional and a disruption to their plan meaning they had to improvise, or they simply forgot they had them. Or they could turn out to not be Molotov cocktails of course.
The...
Not the definitive translation of that verse though is it? Now, you may argue that 'wage war' can be interpreted in a hard way (military warfare) or a soft way (not believing, spreading the word of other Gods, spreading the virtue of cultures fundamentally at odds with their own), but I guess...
I live just outside the police corden. I walk up Borough high street and over London Bridge as my commute every day. I go to the bars and restaurants of the area every week. Shocking, scary and disgusting events last night.
Will dust myself down today and continue as usual tomorrow
Judging by the distance between the Borough pubs supposedly involved, and where the van came to a halt, it is plausible for it to be one incident rather than several. 10/20 second sprint sort of distance.
