It hasn't though, has it?
There are a handful of people here with what I'd term relatively extreme views, then are the majority of largely decent "live and let live" sorts. Maybe the minority are louder and shoutier, but I know who they are and generally skip over their posts.
How on earth did they get these pictures and details?

It's not sarcasm. If this chap is part of a wider group, they'd have known in advance about what he was doing, when and how.
I have incredible respect for the security services' amazing work, and I don't doubt they had very good reason(s), but I'm struggling to believe that keeping the chap's...
I'm pretty sure the bad guy's accomplices / the network he may be in knew what he'd done the same time we heard about the incident on Monday night, if not well before. They're pretty unlikely to have been sitting down watching the news whilst thinking "Oh, I wonder who that could have been?"
Not necessarily.
It could also mean that they have thus far been able to determine whether this attacker was working alone or was part of a bigger group so, in light of that, status moves to "critical" as a precautionary measure whilst those investigations continue. (This isn't my prognosis...
Indeed. It wasn't long ago that I took my daughter to see Justin Bieber at Birmingham Arena (or whatever it's called now). Thousands of young people close to delirium for a couple of hours, having a night they'll remember for the rest of their lives. I jokingly described it as a dreadful...
We just have to keep on keeping on.
The evil ****ers want us to stop, to change our behaviour, to cower in our homes in fear of being caught up in something like this. We won't, we can't.
Not sure I get that. This is being reported as a suspect suicide bomb. I've always assumed that those would be triggered by someone pressing a button (or whatever), rather than setting a timer. I'll admit to not being an expert on these things though.
The unfortunate fact is there is precious little we can do about these kind of attacks, is there?
Our security services are seemingly able to work small miracles in regularly snuffing out attacks from groups and cells that their intelligence unearths, but lone wolf attacks are all but...
I apologise for what seems to be a glib comment now. When I made the post, it did sound like this may not have been the serious incident it now turns out to have been. :(
