    Your confusing two totally different matters: HMRC are enforcing black and white laws set down by the the courts, tribunals and parliament. Simply doing their job and quite rightly. There's also a deterrent factor in that most clubs, agents and players will want to stay the right side of tax...

    Hypothetically just for example, 'image rights' paid by WHU to Payet or an offshore limited company of his, swerving PAYE & NIC, by saying it's not part of his contractual package, blah, blah, blah. The sort of thing that does go on in world football and is illegal in the UK.
