I'm not sure it's outsourced as such, but overflow at peak times gets routed to a third party contact centre. It was my experience with this contact centre that led me to give up and just buy a more expensive ticket online than I needed. As poor customer experience goes, it was right up there...
Oh I know. I'd have typed more along similar lines to you if I wasn't on my phone away from home with spotty signal coverage.
But the scenario where an Albion-mad kid who would gladly go to the Amex to see any game at all misses out to someone who jumped on a waiting list in the hope they may...
Now that is ridiculous. I accept there will be numerous different scenarios where people may feel they deserve the right to retain the use of a season ticket for a connected other, but surely the one you describe is one where it should absolutely be permitted.
You have my sympathy for what...
I have two kids - one lives with me and the other doesn't. The latter is the one who is into the Albion but it's luck as to how the fixtures land relative to the weekends she is with me.
You're right I would expect what you describe. To do anything else would be stupid and crassly shit.
Agreed. I have two front row WSU seats that I adore. I'd not want to change seats if I could avoid it. The chap to my immediate left has also had his seat there since the Amex opened, but he's not been there for the last 7 or 8 games, and his seat has been empty. My 6-y-o is now suddenly really...
I was notified of the announcement on, I think, Sunday evening. My main concern, whilst thinking out loud, was the one you highlight: a ticket has been bought with the genuine belief it will be used by the purchaser (or the person they are buying it for), but something comes up that means the...
Sounds like some simple queries being run against the ticketing system which will then churn out these emails to all cases where age groups don't match.
(Which reminds me I bought an U-18 ticket for my U-10 son for a recent home game because the online ticketing system does not allow a single...
I think the tone is similar to a lot of what we have received and I think I've probably become a bit desensitised to it now. It could certainly be cuddlier, yes.
Sorry - are you trying to make some sort of suggestion that NSC user details are being passed to the club?
Don't you think it is far more likely that, as you seem to be indicating yourself, there is a disparity in the age groupings of the ticket bought and the person you have assigned to that...
The club have my name, address, email address, telephone number and bank account. Probably more stuff beyond that too. And various details of my children too. They'll have details of every ticket I've bought from them.
By getting me to flash a debit card at them at some point in the future at...
There is not a 'for sale' section because it's not legal.
There is a 'wanted' section so that those who want a ticket can request one. They should ensure that if a ticket is offered, that it is covered by a Private Seat License and, as such, can be transferred. That's down to them though.
These spot checks can only work if the checkers have access to the Albion ticket sales system. Having that, the checker would quickly see that you were one of 10 F&F names that bought a batch of tickets together and you'd be fine.
There's only a sledgehammer if you are looking for one. I think we'll be waiting for quite some time before anyone on here reports back having been asked to prove their identity at a ground. If and when it does happen they'll probably then say they quickly flashed the debit card they had in...
Your post typifies the "Outraged of Sussex" response to this: assuming the worst. In fact, almost appearing to wish for the worst in order that they can turn up their outrage dial even further.
You're making a massive assumption that the club would be looking to employ some meatheads to...
The law does not permit anyone to sell or give a football ticket to anyone else at all, as detailed in various bits of:
The Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994
The Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006
The Ticket Touting (Designation of Football Matches) Order 2007
Now, the spirit of the law...
I really can't see that happening.
I would imagine that if someone said they had nothing on them with their name on it, they would simply be asked to take something to the next home game.
That's probably where it does get interesting though as surely a photo would need to be taken in order...
Are you really that bloody precious?
If I walked into a ground and someone asked to see my ticket and then looked at an iPad or something and said "This ticket was sold to a Mr D McKay - would you have anything on you today that verifies that is you?" I'd get out a debit or credit card, they'd...
