Yes, but where that A Level in maths helps is that it tells you that if the distribution in points has effectively meant 90+ points has been the benchmark for 20+ years, it is not suddenly going to change.
For 4 or 5 sides to average over 2 points a game (over a season), when it's never been...
The point being made about the top sides playing each other is important.
Also, you have to look at the spread of points throughout the division. For 3 or 4 to get 90+, you would need 3 or 4 teams to be cut adrift at the bottom. At the moment, only Rotherham look doomed.
