Composed in 1914, to me the piece is evocative of our beautiful countryside and possibly the looming war at that time.

Have always adored Smetana. Discovered it as a child on the B side of a Dvorak New World Symphony cassette! I was trying to convert family to its brilliance only last week. :smile:
