i think this just shows the old notions of left-right (and class) have been diluted and often dont hold true.
tell that to the Chinese! we may baulk at some of the consequences, but we cannot deny the massive success they have had in the past 30 odd years under a single party system. once they had adopted capitalism of course, because the market really is best :cheery:
i know. its interesting you completely overlook the deterent effect. that is usually the motivation for harsh penalties, not desire to punish more for the sake of it.
what old school theory is this? this is a daft position to start from, as if there have been no right wing thinkers or historians, and the left are automatically educated.
