Took a train for the first time in about a year yesterday. was leaving Haywards Heath after a few beers so got to HH station to get the 23.05. Walking in and looking at the info boards there was barely a train that wasn't delayed. SASTA tannoys going off every 10 seconds informing us of delays...
I'll take your word for it
There is very little public support fro train crew but there is a lot of hatred against Southern. Not the same thing as support for crews.
Good, good. Life goes on.
They'll lose their jobs if they keep throwing their toys out of the pram. People only have so much...
Well, the trains seem to run better on strike days so nobody is really listening to the whining of the drivers anymore. Fail. They'll have to take a deal soon or face ruin.
Well that's genuinely gracious of you, thank you. To be fair I was deliberately asking the question repeatedly to make my point. Apologies if you found it irritating. In my mind I was Paxman, to everyone else I was the kid in the car.
Oh well, they can't all be zingers!
Not fishing, not trolling. I'm just asking an uncomfortable question. Anyway, I got an answer. Eventually. Really no need for you to come in wagging your finger.
Calm down dear. I asked the same question without receiving a plausible answer. I have now received an answer, albeit not the one DD wanted to give. I am satisfied.
May I recommend the ignore function for posters that get you so upset.
So you can be dismissed. Your principles cannot be that strong if you'd rather drive what you deem to be an unsafe train than look for another job. Of course you would, drivers are on a gravy train and think they can get more. Your mob should have taken the pay rise while it was on the table...
If the DOO trains are so risky, why are you not refusing to drive them altogether? I know you said they had made it illegal to refuse to drive them but that raises two questions:
What charge would be held against you by the police and CPS for refusing to drive a train?
And
If you are so...
That makes no sense. If, as Thunderbolts keeps repeating, drivers run the risk of jail if an accident occurs why on earth would you step foot on a DOO train? The concept of it being illegal to refuse to drive a train also makes no sense. It cannot be illegal to refuse to drive a train. It can be...
Makes a lot of sense. More sense than the train driver on here is attempting to make. As usual it's the end user that suffers while the overpaid staff and fat cat corporates wrestle for power. Vanity.
Pffft.
So your morals and consciences are in the hands of ASLEF. If you truly believed, as you claim, that they are unsafe you wouldn't get on board one. You make out you are morally correct by saying it's not about money, it's about safety but then just follow orders when told to by ASLEF, even...
I notice nobody has been able to answer the question:
If there is so much potential for accidents, why are drivers not refusing flat out to drive DOO trains?
With this in mind, if they are dangerous , why are the drivers even agreeing to drive them at all. You haven't addressed the question at all, just reinforced my point.
I'll spell it out to you. The RMT and their members are refusing overtime and striking to try and secure their jobs and secure...
