Yeah, if I suggested Lapland at Christmas my 8 year old would complain that he'd be missing the boxing day test match.

Religious people complain about the commercialisation of Christmas but conversely it was a "winter festival celebration" long before the Christians nicked it. I think it's good that it has less and less to do with religion and more to do with having fun.

I love Christmas. Mainly because other people's consumption of booze rises to around 50% of my normal intake so I can feel normal/laugh at them falling over for a few weeks. Still a bit early though for sure.
