Why sell for £4 million when we know they've got the money to pay more? Expect this one will be rejected and they'll probably come back with £5 million + add-ons. We're not desperate to sell as he is under contract for another 3 years so we may as well rip them off to the max.

The point that the two transfers aren't comparable at all is pretty conclusive.. Trippier's agent must've known when he signed a new deal last May (with 1 year left on his deal) that there was interest and demanded a low relegation release clause or he wouldn't sign and would leave for nothing...
