Don't worry - the opponents will be rickety too!
I'd also prefer a "proper" 5-a-side with equally old people - it's almost impossible not to run at times, even if it's just a few steps.
Interesting article on the Beeb today - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-37631122
Steve Rich added our group to his directory recently, and I recommend having a look - http://www.walkingfootballunited.co.uk/
Also, a bunch of us played Football Golf for the first time today, and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Sounds just like one of our sessions! It gets better, though I still have clumsy weeks. Great fun, a good bunch of lads, and a sweaty workout. What more could you want?
Yeah, I'm 57 too. Having retired early, I find that everyone I mix with is older than me, including my walking groups (we do up to 10 miles, so they're in pretty good shape). But I am hoping to find a (slightly) younger bunch if this comes off.
Any of the older posters on here involved in "walking football"?
There's moves to set up a new group down here in Cornwall, but I was having a quick Google and found this - http://www.walkingfootballunited.co.uk/. Good to see an Albion In The Community video on the home-page.
Does it get...
