    So fuel duty pays for all those services single-handedly? My problem isn't with taxation, it is with the fact that they are profiteering by taxing a basic necessity excessively. Why not stick a 50p duty on every basic necessity then like food?

    I feel most of the rampant profiteering is done by the government. Ridiculous to charge so much in duty for something that is a necessity to so many people.
