    Um, yes there is as several have pointed out. There were two Britains for a while and the French chose to call one (now Brittany) "little Britain" and the other "great britain". Pretty sure it's not a secret. Think they decided it about 600 years ago. Just saying.

    Indeed. Saved me having to type it myself. Great Britain is the main landmass. Little Britain was the name given to what is now the Breton (non-French) speaking region of NW France originally settled by Cornlanders and Welsh. British Isles is Great Britain plus Ireland plus loads of clagnuts...
