You can say that about all of our players - Orlandi, KLL, Bruno etc. The fact is if Bridcutt, Barnes, Buckley, Ulloa and El-Abd all leave in this window the heart would be ripped out of the side and it would take a miracle of biblical proportion for the season not to be over.
I don't see why any respectable editor with their ear to the ground wouldn't be just as likely to pick up on these sort of rumours as the Sheffield paper.
Sunderland message board seemed of the opinion he'd been recalled to play, then someone posted this tweet from a Yorkshire Post journalist.
@Gledi57: Sounds like #swfc loan striker Connor Wickham could well be part of a swap deal for Brighton players going to Sunderland.
@Gledi57...
Leicester have just acquired Phillips, so they've got even more strikers than Forest. QPR would appear to be the move of choice - they rely totally on Austin.
Why would Wickham want another loan deal at a different Championship club? He's happy at Wednesday and scoring for fun, he's proved he's a handful in this division and he's regained his form. Either Gus brings him back and keeps him or sells him while his stock is high.
Wickham's certainly going somewhere. Forest would be a good move for him in theory, but in practice they have so many strikers there's no guarantee he'd be playing regularly. I don't see the acquisition cost being a problem if Bridcutt is part of the deal, but he'd certainly be one of our top...
