When I interviewed Andy Rollings for Viva Brighton magazine, and we got talking about the museum, he told me that he had an Albion blazer with a Dolphin emblem and was interested in donating that.
Elsewhere, on eBay, I found this scarf which declares 'Up The Dolphins' near the hand graphic...
I won an auction that BHA Collectors and Historians Society ran at Withdean about four years ago. I hadn't heard of it at the time but obviously recognised the photo from the John Vinicombe book cover.
The price of retro shirts has increased massively. About ten years ago £65 would have been a realistic price for a B-Cal Albion home shirt from 1980-83 whereas I've seen them on sale for about £250 these days.
So that's:
Yellow:
1980-84 British Caledonian Airways (sponsor up to 1982/83)
1984-85 Phoenix Brewery
White:
1981/82 British Caledonian Airways
1983/84 Phoenix Brewery
Red:
1985/86 Phoenix Brewery
1986/87 NOBO
is that right?
