So basically, you don't have a single valid argument against it, apart from 'football has moved on', by which you mean that you have got old and fat and don't want to stand anymore, so therefore nobody else should either.
I don't really see what there is to protest about yet. If and when other clubs introduce safe standing and the Albion don't, surely that is the time to protest? You're not going to get that many people actively protesting to get the club to consider the possibility of thinking about talking...
I very much doubt that is his personal opinion, but if that's the club line then it's not his fault, he can't put across a different opinion.
I am shocked that the club just dismissed it out of hand like that. Paul Camillin used to stand on the North Stand at the Goldstone, as did Dick Knight...
Very true. If there is safe standing available and someone stands in front of you in the seating areas then you have every right to to be annoyed about it.
Well I can tell you that I went to away matches as a kid and it was fine. There is absolutely no reason why you cant take a kid to an away match. OK, maybe don't take him to Palace or Millwall, but virtually anywhere else would be fine.
When I was a kid I always wanted to sit down the front...
I'm sorry but that is bollocks. Padded seats and extra leg room is not the reason why the Amex has been so successful. Those are just nice little extras.
If safe standing can work anywhere in the top two divisions in England, then it will work at the Amex. And as TMLS says, if the club thought...
Why would we completley re-design the stand to allow people to stand, and then have games where they are required to sit? I'm not sure you're getting this.
Edit: I've just realised what you mean. But I think they'd only put the seats down for internationals etc, there wouldn't be any Albion...
I think this is the only real problem with it. I think they'd only do it if each fan had a numbered spot where they had to stand. And that wouldn't bring back the old atmosphere of everyone congregating together with their mates. But it would still be better.
Also, apologies if I'm missing...
