Had a Beetroot and Tzatziki Sour the other day. Sounds disgusting but was surprisingly refreshing. Initial taste was of cucumber and mint with a gentle beetroot taste as it hit the back of the throat.

Couple of interesting events coming up in Worthing. Vibrant Forest doing a meet the brewer event at Brooksteed next week while Beer No Evil follow up their Abyss tasting event by having Burning Sky coming to the shop on February 5th for a Technical Talk on saisons and mixed fermentation...

My son tried the Barrel aged on last night. He is only just starting out in the stouts and found it a bit rich for his tastes but very nice. Siren have just released a dark cherry spiced sour that I fancy trying.

I was there before you on Saturday and had the same feeling. Good setup , the outside heaters work well, but the beer is pretty average and not much variety. If you don't like their beer then they don't have much else (one red wine, one white wine, limited spirits and nothing from other...

Anyone tried the beers from the Norwegian brewery Lervig? While in a little taproom in Germany last week I was introduced to their Passion Tang - a very refreshing Passion Fruit Sour but with a 7% kick behind it. Needless to say, I popped into Trafalgar Wines on Saturday and asked Steve if he...

For those in the Worthing area, the Brooksteed micro pub has now opened their own off licence - Bottle & Jug dept. Popped in the other day and they have a fine selection of craft beers. The shop is in the old cycle shop next to Worthing railway crossing on South Farm Road. Nowhere near the...

Maybe an exchange visit as I see Stone from Berlin are having TTO at Brighton Beer Dispensary in July.

Whilst in Cheltenham on Wednesday for the racing, I popped into a place called Jessops which is a Wild Beer tap room but also has a great range of other beers from around the country including our own Burning Sky. Had a really great mango sour from a small Welsh brewery called West By Three...

In most craft beer pubs you can usually find at least one sour on tap and others in the fridge. The manager of the Pond likes a sour so always has them on and he has generally chosen really well. Brewdog usually have one - the latest was an imported Anderson Valley Barrel Aged G&T Gose which...

Not sure of there is any left but Brewdog had a fantastic guest beer last week. It was from Anderson Valley (a US brewery) and it was a barrel aged G&T Gose. Strong at 6.5% but very smooth, not too sour and very drinkable. One of the best drinks I have had in a long time.

I thought he had been holidaying at her majesty's pleasure for a while. Tax evasion in a previous business I was told. Goose has been going down hill for some time now. Few beers on tap, fridges with little variety and youngsters manning the bar who seem to think the music should be played so...

I've been told that there is another micro-pub opening on South Street Tarring just up from the Green Man. Anyone know anything about this?

Not been there yet. Hopefully it is more Brooksteed than Green Man. That part of town has so few places to drink that if it is half decent they should have a good business there.

Still no sign of the craft beer off licence on Tarring Road, Worthing. It's a shame as I was talking to a bloke in Brooksteed a while back who was going to open a craft beer offie in Worthing but as he had heard about the one on Tarring Road decided to look for another town to open in.

Working in Mannheim, Germany this week and made my second visit to Taproom Jungbusch. It is the only craft beer pub in the city although there is a good craft beer shop in the middle of the city. Taproom always has 12 different beers on draft and a number of bottles and cans. I had a nice...

Had a very nice Saison from The Kernel brewery whilst in Nottingham yesterday. Was more of a sour than a hoppy saison - similar to the Burning Sky Printemps - but very refreshing. Shame we chose to leave avery good craft beer bar and head to the City Ground.

It gets worse. Tonight my 16 year old son came down and asked if I had any 'spare' beer in the fridge? Tried to offload some crap that other people had left behind after a social event but he wasn't interested in that and chose one of my Siren beers instead!

Popped in to Brewdog Edinburgh tonight. Surprisingly small bar but great barman and enjoyed a nice Siren Pompelmocello. Wasn't brave enough to risk a bottle of Tzatziki Sour - a sour beer with hints of cucumber, mint and ouzo. Maybe another time!
