I never thanked you properly for your Berlin advice, it was a grand old weekend, so much obliged for that. We spent the Saturday afternoon in the Mariendorf venue and to a man I think we were very impressed, so much so that I was hoping to go back. Do you think Stone will continue to have a...

To report back on The Hornet beer festival, the Cloudwater brews available were the Brewed All Season Pale, served in Cask at 4%, and a One Off Dry Hopped Belgian Ale, 5.5% on keg. The pale was beautiful, like a passion fruit irrigated by beer. I have to admit I think I prefer the 'sharper'...

A heads up for anyone out on the western frontier, The Hornet in Chichester is having a winter beer festival this week, I think they've got about 18 beers on, including a couple of Cloudwaters, of which I'm going to get stuck into in about half an hours time, cheers!

Speaking of cloudy IPAs, I had a couple of pints of Into the Haze by DEYA last night, best beer I've had for a long time

I've had a couple of their beers, but not visited the Tap Room. I agree with your assessment, they're good-ish, and if they weren't small and local I'd be largely indifferent. Looking on my Untapped account, I see that I had the Loot IPA in The Brooksteed back in the summer, I gave it 3.5 out...

Yeah, a welcome addition in my opinion as I don't think Chi is particularly good for drinking, really looking forward to it but my wallet and waistline may disagree...

Further news for those of us in the wild West, a new micropub is opening in Chichester City centre later this month. It's to be called The Hornet Alehouse, and is about 100 yards from my gaff :cheers::clap:

They had a Kissingate beer at Anchored very recently, can't recall which one though, but it wasn't the IPA. Their Black Cherry mild is worth a go too, it's won loads of awards.

Craft beer world conquest continues apace. In Oviedo, a medium sized town in Asturias, Northern Spain, an area better known for it's cider. The local brewery, Cerveza Nurse, has a bottle shop /bar in town. Beers are good, more English in style than the super hoppy West Coast often replicated. No...

A real gem of a pub. I went to one of their summer festivals a year or two ago, beautiful beer, beautiful area. A micro pub, before micro pubs were a thing.

I went to the Staggeringly Good beer festival on HMS Warrior in Portsmouth a couple of weeks ago, incidentally a fantastic venue for drinking beer, and they had a secret bar, the prize for locating was Cloudwater DIPA London Ale on tap. 9+%, amazing stuff. I'm going to finish the breakfast...

Had a Grey Ghost IPA a few days ago, from the Raw Brewing Company in Derbyshire. It's a chunky 5.9%,but is one of the best beers I've had in a while, and I drink a lot of IPAs. Went to The Brooksteed for the first time since it's changed hands last night, and can happily say everything was tip...

Yeah, very exciting thanks, although doing the necessary environmental health procedures perhaps less so ! The café is on Littlehampton Marina, and is called the Boathouse. Apparently, what Mark (the brewer) does is make a 'base' bitter and then styles/hops it accordingly to your...

I'm in the process of opening a café and the wonderful people at Goldmark Brewery in Poling near Arundel are going to brew our own beers for us. They're fitting 3 keg pumps and I'm going for a tasting next week:). They have a pretty good pilsner called 'vertigo' that I think we might co-opt, I...

The gospel is spreading. I was in Caen last week, and I enjoyed a nice chewy, hoppy blonde brewed by Brasserie de l'Odon, in nearby Aunay sur Odon. It was on draught and came in at 6.2%, and was quite distinctive from the Belgian style beers you get in northern France. I was impressed, and this...

Yes, I used 'burgeoning' in my initial post but it's already pretty well established, particularly in the north. The Elav brewery have a bar and bottle shop in Bergamo airport.

Flew to Italy after the Preston game and been investigating the burgeoning brewing scene. Lots of breweries around Bergamo, but currently enjoying a Brewfist Spaceman West Coast IPA . I had it with Mushroom and Spinach strozzopretti, very good beer, ticks all the right boxes for a hoppy beer
