Right time (well, probably a year too late really). Been an excellent all-round cricketer, but his time is definately up in test matches.

I only saw the first session last night so can't comment on how well we batted/they bowled, however, bearing in mind that we are in front with all wickets, they are caught. They can't just defend, but they can't go for all out attack. I can see us batting all day tomorrow and most of Tues as...

I think the ENgland team have proved resilience over recent times. All teams will have good sessions during a match/series. Australia have now had another decent 2 sessions; the first since the 2nd day of Brisbane. I still fancy our chances to win this as I don't think we'll fold again second...

Kiss of death here, but Bell does look a class player these days.

That's the mind-set of losers (which is very different to the mind-set of, for example, Aussies). BTW, you're not alone; so may Brits are scared to lose, rather than having the balls to really go for it.

I know what you mean, but if we'd used our 2 reviews then he would have got away with it, so I can understand the frustration at the failure to see something which appears to be straight forward. Bit like Hussey in the first test.

We've got 8 players who are handy with the bat and a lead of 88. I hope that we at least try to up the pace a bit during the morning session to give us the opportunity of maybe declaring about 1 hour after luch with a lead of 250 (assume we bat for 3 1/2 hours or say 45 overs gone and a scoring...

I think the 1st hour is very important today (tonight). New ball/fresh legs; get through them quick and limit them to say 20-30 run lead. Can't see us failing as badly second time round (3 ducks plus a 4) and think Swanny could be a factor in their second innings. Never thought that after 260...
