I was quite surprised to have to scrape a light frost off the car windscreen at 7:15 tonight and the roads back from Worthing town centre had all been gritted.
I must say it's a beautiful day out there.
Up on the Downs for a long walk with the dog at 6:30 was glorious - so crisp and still. As there was virtually no wind at all, it didn't actually feel cold - I had to take my hat off and loosen my coat etc so I didn't overheat.
Just back from the...
We headed up to Cissbury Ring with the dog around 5ish, so after sunset. It was a glorious Winter Wonderland up there - maybe an inch or so in places, enough to give that satisfying crunch of fresh snow under foot.
We didn't need to use our torches at all as, even without any moonlight, the...
We went out for dinner last night, leaving home at 7:45. I had to scrape thick frost off the car for the drive into town. We went to Perch on the Pier and the pier itself was like an ice rink - I nearly stacked it three or four times.
By the time we came out, it had rained and it had all melted...
Very light snow falling whilst I was walking the dog on the Downs pre-dawn.
Quite a contrast to the weather in Athens I could see from photos people were sending at the same time!
It's slushy and slippy - decided to take my car off the drive, which is on a hill on the west side of Findon Valley as, when I drove it up an hour or so back, the wheels spun a bit on the slush.
I only had to take it down about 20 feet, but it started going sideways, by itself, and I thought I...
We did have a frost maybe 5-6 weeks ago. I remember a particularly crisp 7am dog walk and it caught me by surprise.
It was very possibly a one-off though - it has been ridiculously mild.
Barely a scrape? Pretty thick frost on my windscreen at 8am not too far from you.
I was out with the dog over the Downs at 7am though and still in shorts. Lovely crisp morning to be out.
It was snowing when I took the dog out onto the Downs around 10pm last night. Very lightly though and it was never going to lead to any ground coverage, alas.
