Excellent so far. I have just finished a classics degree so I am used to reading Roman and greek works, so it is quite refreshing reading from a modern style.
Have you read Persian fire? That is one of his and is really excellent. Puts today's Middle Eastern issues in context.
I hope he gets around to do the third part....he represents Cicero as a hero type figure, which is in stark contrast to pliny, Plutarch, etc ie roman authors of the period...of course they were slanting their opinions for the ruling classes of the time and Cicero was, although an equestrian...

I have read all of them.....they are extremely violent and if you get away from his anti communism style, they are very good. ( but you can get very annoyed!!!)

I have my OU classics exam tomorrow morning, so I am currently cramming Odyssey, Iliad, Herodotus Histories, Thucydides and all the confusing notes I have made since September that make no fecking sence at all!
