    Liverpool - The city

I'm currently working up this way too, so depends on what you're looking for. The Titanic hotel is really nice, but quite pricey and is about 20/25 minute walk into the city centre. If you're looking for a night out, I like the bars on Seal Street - the old fashioneds in Berry and Rye on Berry...

Is John Motson a good football commentator?

He used to be good, but I think his commentary over the last few seasons has been pretty dire. I remember in one particular airing of Match of the Day, in the lead up to a goal he didn't say anything, but then blurted out "TURNED ON" as they scored. Almost Alan Partridge-esque

    Stag Do Help/Advice

So, my best friend finally popped the question to his missus, and has recently asked me to be his best man. Basically, I have no idea what are reputable websites/what's the easiest way to book a stag. There's around 20-25 of us going, looking at the end of May next year for three nights...

    Murray to Palace

IF this is true, then as much as I would be gutted to see a player of Glenn's calibre leave the club - if he's going for purely more money, let him go. We took a big gamble on him (300k was a hell of a lot of money for us to spend on anyone a few years ago,) and for a few seasons you could see...

Jim Gannon - did we have a lucky escape?

League Two is his level. His old style of management isn't cutting it anymore at the higher end of the football pyramid.

Jim Gannon - did we have a lucky escape?

I don't know what went on at Motherwell, but wasn't he reasonably successful at Peterborough? They wanted to appoint him on a permanent basis at the end of the season he just has such an affiliation with the north, with family commitments etc he wouldn't move south - hence why he turned us down.
  19. Q

Jim Gannon - did we have a lucky escape?

But in all fairness appointing Gannon at that time would have sent us down. We needed a motivator to get the players working hard and putting in high energy level performances to grind out results. Slade fitted that bill perfectly.
