To be honest, I don't think he'll take the job if he is offered it like I've been told. When he's managed big clubs like Sunderland and Crystal Palace I don't think he would take a role where it's likely too late to save them.

I can understand why you think a former England manager would never manage little old Brighton, but the guy I know used to work in his coaching staff at Sunderland and followed him to Everton.

Genuinely think he could be a good stop gap. He would get us the results we need to stay up and make us a team hard to beat next season.

As I guess you're all aware the interest for Ashley never materialised. A deal was on the table from Brighton and a couple of other Championship clubs (Leeds most keen) until the weekend just gone but you pulled out because of West Ham's reluctance to let him go until they get a replacement...

Well from what I've been told it seems dependent on West Ham getting a striker or two in before they let him go our on loan.
