He obviously ripped them a new one. Lallana looked and sounded traumatised. They certainly haven't 'turned up' to any performance since then. All guesswork of course.
We could have got Dewsbury-Hall and James WP with the Caicedo money and had plenty of change. Saving the wages for Milner, Fati and Dahoud. West Ham spent the Declan Rice money very well IMO.
Tony sacked Poyet because of his so called antics...RDZs hasn't been far off that over the past month. He's publicly criticised everyone from the hierarchy to young individual players. Risky business that.
It's never good when a manager is openly uncertain about his future AND publicy questions the players ability. That bizarre Lallana interview was maybe the pinch point that belief had gone.
I'm not saying it wasn't a great experience. It was. Memories to last forever. I'm trying to say that the reality of playing in it has caught up with us. Outside of the Europa League, this hasn't been an as enjoyable season compared to last year.
I'm not saying they weren't. Of course course our European group stage campaign was excellent. However it came at a price, constant rotation leading up to the games and then the tired lacklustre performances in the league and injuries.
I saw that too. He was standing in front of me at the turnstiles. He was just waved through by the stewards. If you're supporting the away side but in the home end, you don't wear colours! The stewards should have called him out on that.
A season that should have been one to remember has somehow turned in to one I can't wait to end. Whilst there were some good memories created. The excitement of qualifying for the Europa League far outweighed the actual reality of playing in it.
Season is over but it would be good to finish the season on a little high by getting some wins. I don't really like the idea of carrying terrible form into next season.
