20 Years of North Stand Chat

I think I joined in 2001, a year before 26 October 2002. I've been enjoying the bantz since and miss a few of the old timers - Brighton Rock (the only other Palace fan on at the time), Watford O and of course BHA Express (RIP) who used to find a different way to insult my family every day...

[Football] Patrick Bamford cancels Palace loan...

Yes, Bamford is leaving us bereft in 5th place in the top flight as we go into the new year, how will we cope? Maybe those ever-sharp BHA fans should concentrate on you slipping quietly to your death in the promotion race. Come on the tractor boys!

    [Palace] Have a chuckle!

That's fine dimwit. You laugh at our stadium, we laugh at your pathetic efforts to keep up with us since about 1985, long before you gave up your old home (which you look back at fondly, while having a go at ours).

    [Palace] Have a chuckle!

No, just having a look Nobby, with the usual number of threads on 'Palace' and 'Holloway'. You lot are obsessed, like a poor man's Spurs looking at Arsenal.

    [Palace] Have a chuckle!

Yeah, life is horrible being a Palace fan at the moment. Not another win against Liverpool or Chelsea. Once we're safe we can all concentrate on watching boring Chris foul up your cast iron right to be amongst the big boys. But you've got a lovely stadium so that's all right.

    As a Palace fan...

Not even then - I think 3-0 is still the worst over 2 and a bit seasons, which frankly amazes me. In this time Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool have had at least one or two drubbings.

    As a Palace fan...

Good summary - which of the ones coming in have made the difference? Obviously the striker.

Who rattled your cage? Why don't you do one if you've got nothing insightful to add.

    As a Palace fan...

Exactly - a few TV games help out. I think as fans we're pretty happy to adapt to whichever league we're in.

    As a Palace fan...

Yeah, I remember. And all the beatings at the GG in the 1980s. We've pulled it back a bit recently though....

    As a Palace fan...

I was thinking about that the other day - when we went up I was convinced we'd go straight down and consoled myself with the fact that you got more games in the Champ, it was a 'real' league etc etc. Now I'd hate to be outside of the PL. You get used to the coverage and taking on the big boys...

Too many, but sort of goes with the territory. Our next 3 are 1.30pm Sun, 4pm Sun and 12.45pm Saturday.

Thanks for your intelligent response, as ever. Was a genuine question. I know very little about this Albion side. Are you over-performing or have you got the core of a side that can maintain your fast start?

    As a Palace fan...

...and one that's posted on here since 2001, I'll ask the question, is it Albion's time? I'm intrigued as I don't know much about this emerging Albion side - you naturally follow the Champ less when you're not in it. CH is obviously a good solid manager and a generally decent bloke. And how...

    Good luck, Palace..

Give it a rest and change the record you bitter little man. You always cite one game whereas we were getting 15k to 17k for plenty of games around that time. Our gates have gone up in the PL, no poop Sherlock. Let's see if you lot can maintain your form so we can play each other in the PL. I...

    Good luck, Palace..

Well done Brighton today, having the Allstars v Albion in the PL would be great. Would make good viewing.

Simon Hooper in the premier league

Yeah, everything we've done over the last three years has been down to luck and dodgy refs. Glad it's out there now. Keeps dimwits like you clutching at straws as the mighty Albion flatter to deceive, keeping it real since 1983.
