Back when I was young free and single in the mid 80s I shared a flat in south London with a couple of mates, 1 another Brighton fan. He was a once a week man and used to disappear off with the paper to the loo when his time of the week came. He would be in there for ages but, to his credit...
Yes. I find it very odd that Everton fans were desperate to be shot of Allardyce because of the execrable football he served up, but seem not to be bothered by the thin gruel Dyche gives 'em. Perhaps their standards have slipped as their League position has.....
I am sure I remember reading/hearing something about Percy not taking instructions from the coaching staff and just playing the way he wanted to, whether they liked it or not, and that was the reason he got shipped out?
I didn't mind that one so much (the 1-3 v Cambridge at Gillingham). IIRR our one goal was Gary Hart and we hadn't even put the ball in the net for several matches beforehand so it was a bit of consolation. Took it well too - from memory.
Gets my vote as well. The utter despair I felt after that game about our future is not something I want to think about. I think that game featured one of Ashley Neal's (mercifully few) Albion appearances, didn't it?
Indeed. But as others have said he was fouled. And it was beyond the half way line, the Ipswich defence really should have done better once possession was lost!
Less than a week ago. We get some money from the local Council to cover part of our disabled son's care support and they've never introduced any other payment method other than cheques. So still use at least one a month!
About the only cheque I do write though. Even my Golf Society - finally -...
I bought bits and pieces as couldn't afford a boxed set, so started off with two teams, balls and goals and added a pitch later when I had the cash. First teams were the Albion and - from memory - Arsenal. Goodness knows why Arsenal, never liked them particularly!
Thought Dunky was pretty good. One misplaced pass to his right 2nd half and a couple of headers he could have got nearer, but classic Dunk block 1st half and some good passes too especially one to Foden which set up an England break (squandered as were most of them!).
This in the waffle in the link posted by the OP:-
"Brighton since they became members of the Football League have played at four different grounds. The longest time and first was the Goldstone Ground which was their home for just under a hundred years. It was also a ground where you could be...
I don't feel sorry for him tbh. Admittedly Southgate - for any number of reasons - shouldnt be picking him but Maguire had a chance to revive his form and focus at West Ham, but turned it out down for what seems to be pure greed.
So what if he was going to be paid a bit less? He's never going...
They must have been a bit naive if they thought this wouldn't get out!
Presumably the bit in italics was meant to keep the potential investors happy, then when it gets splurged all over the Guardian they can just hold their hands up and say "well, we did try......."
