Some confusing comments on this thread. Chicken meat can be produced with low environmental impact and cost, but we'd have to reverse some of the improvements we have made in welfare standards. I'm still worried by the organic label - it seems to be confused with high welfare and high health!

I've got to disagree with that. I studied biology in 1994 and don't remember climate change being seen as immediate then. I would also suggest that the amount of change over 27 years has been big but it just hasn't been enough and other areas have also changed for the worse. There's two issues...
