Our UK business is flying but the export side of business is screwed. EU customers won’t pay the duties, we can’t afford to pay on their behalf as we work to tight margins. We’ll have to open a DC in Europe unfortunately..........

Perfect, that’s exactly what I was looking for. As long the majority are better off it will make up for those if us who work in industries that have been shafted.
I’d love to hear an example of anyone, either personally or in business, that’s better off since Brexit. I know it’s incredibly early but I don’t know anyone who’s in a better position?

If goods are made in the EU then they are duty free and it’s extra paperwork, which is really no issue. If a brand or company manufacturers outside the EU (like a TV, a pair of trainers, a polo shirt etc) that’s where the increased costs start due to the “Rule of Origin”.

Annoyingly there is no duty drawback available. We import goods from all over the world, and pay the appropriate duty to HMRC. We then wholesale throughout the EU and these customers/dealers/retail stores now have to pay duty, where they didn’t before. So the dealers are now seeing a price hike...
