Just watching the penalty shootout back on iPlayer. Don't ask me why. Catharsis? Anyway, seeing Steele continuing to console Solly for long after all the other players had just made me love that man even more. What a team player.
As an aside, not afraid to say I shed a tear for Solly watching...
Not even 12 months ago Potter, Cucurella, Bissouma, Trossard and (perhaps to a lesser extent) Maupay were integral components to our success. Fast forward to today and all of them have gone but somehow we're even better for it.
I can't think of another club something remotely similar has...
Maybe time has addled my brain, but am I right in thinking that the general consensus after an international tournament is that the refereeing standard is a lot better than in English football and we usually bemoan why our refs can’t be as good as those internationally? If my memory serves me...
Sorry if somebody has already thought of this, but proposal for a new song for Joel, stolen from Rangers' John Lundstram song to the tune of Belinda Carlisle's "Heaven is a Place on Earth".
Lyrics for Lundstram's: "Ooo baby do you know what that's worth
John Lundstram is the best on earth...
Which videos get you most in the mood for the big one? For me it’s a bit of history and then this fan video of Ulloa’s second back in 2013. I also love the one with the Aspinall commentary of “AND WE’VE ONLY GOT TEN MEN” after Andone’s goal in 18/19, but I can’t seem to find it. :albion2:
I was just watching this video on how a selection of British newspapers reported England’s Euro 2020 campaign.
It struck me how many predictions so-called experts make turn out to be completely wrong. Some highlighted in the video are:
- Rio Ferdinand slating Maguire’s inclusion in the squad...
Maguire gets an awful amount of stick on here but I'm gonna stick my head above the parapet and give him some praise. I was impressed with him in 2018, but from the moment he stepped back into the side he looked like a man possessed. Brave, confident, fearless. Sticking that sort of penalty away...
Afternoon all,
At 7pm on Wednesday July 14th, History Indoors will be hosting a talk about the history of the rivalry between Brighton and Palace via Zoom. As we’re a history organisation, the talk will take a specifically historical angle, using newspaper clippings and memorabilia to explore...
Anyone watching last night would have seen our Lewis squaring up with Maguire towards the final whistle. But, in a Marvel-esque battle between the two captains, who would win?
There's only one way to find out...
FIIIIIIIIIGHHHHHTTTTT! :wrong:
For me, it would be Dunky. Knowing that he won't...
Another chance for us to be armchair managers.
You’re GP. You’re scratching your head at how we’ve only recorded two wins against teams in the bottom half this season, but can’t buy any new players until the summer. What do you change? More direct football? Greater emphasis on...
If we take everybody’s form after 19 games (the halfway point) and duplicate that for the second half of the season, the points threshold to stay up would be 26 - I’m presuming a record low. Even if you take into account the likelihood of the bottom three scrapping out a few extra points towards...
Yawn, yawn, another Potter in/out thread, I know.
With the seemingly growing divide between those who want to stick with GP and those who don't, there appears a frustration with those who seem to cling to their view, no matter what. For example, I've only recently shifted to thinking we need a...
