Completed my own Unofficial parkrun run around Shoreham Airport with some extended family.
Lots of people out enjoying the sun.
Thought Strava would give me the course record but annoyingly it found some other runners runs from prior years and put me in all time 3rd.[emoji35]
It's was nice...
I've been playing truant for a while ... not surprised I've been dropped Table of Honour. If you're happy re-admit me I'll try to improve my attendance here!
Best time this year is 22:56 AG 65.33% when I went to Eastbourne PR's 8th birthday, but not been setting the world on fire with any...
Reigate HM on Sunday.
Completing my normal (poor) training with going out for a curry the night before convincing myself that all that rice, naan & chicken would be perfect fuel.
Up early on Sunday and in the 45 mins before I left the house I managed 3 increasingly urgent toilet trips ...
Wanted to do 10 miles this morning and planned to go up and down the river adur, but made a last minute change when a remembered the lancing pr was on and the it was more or less 10 miles there and back from my place with a pr in the middle.
Timed my run perfectly and arrived 2 minutes before...
I started looking at doing all the closest PRs from me within an hour or so drive, which ended up being the Sussex PRs plus Cranleigh.
I'm almost half way having done the 7 closest.
I think it's predominately flat ... with a sadistically placed hill around mile 12!
(I've not done Reigate PR - now you've got me thinking about doing that on Saturday instead of my planned training)
Whilst away at the weekend completed my third tourist PR in a row @ Doncaster in a pleasing 22.09, still improving but over a minute of my PB.
Gonna focus on getting some distance in my legs ready for Reigate half in September but will target PR again towards the end of the year to see if I can...
Good luck with the C to 5K.
If I'm going straight out then just half a glass of water - anymore and it sloshes around my stomach.
If I've got say, 45 minutes or more before I run, say a parkrun then a light breakfast: cereal / fruit.
(Once whilst stayin in a Hotel and doing the local Park...
Thanks, but I had seen that somewhere before - probably on here. I'm surprised how many are flatter tha Worthing.
I confess, following on from discovering the Parkrun Alphabet thing i did a bit of googling at the weeknd and found not only was the alphabet a big thing but there are an infinite...
I want to do Bevingdean again this year, in the dry this time (not 3 inches of mud like January). Also want to tick off Peacehaven ...(I think I'm becoming a Parkrun tart)
But unfortunately not this weekend as I'm away for a wedding up t'North - I'll try and fit a nearby one in depending on timings.
Park run tourist again, ticking off the local PRs; @ Horsham today. Not mad on the course, I found ì very twisty and turnery but still continuing to improve with a 22:35, so happy with that.
Only downer was that my barcode didn't scan so I've emailed to see if they can add me in.
(Also, I've...
Picking a middle of a heat wave to start running - not surprised you're struggling a bit! Keep at though, and post on here with any questions as there's always someone who's been there, done that.
Give it a couple of months and you're be ParkRunning on a saturday morning and flying up our...
My lad was fine by the time we got home, probably gulped water down too quick on top of the run.
Thankfully no dog walkers being difficult today.
I enjoyed the variation on the course, and the one slope at halfway to get the heart pumping. Although there are a few pinch points, plenty of...
Promised myself I'd try some different ParkRuns this year, so became a tourist today and made my way to Tilgate.
I thought it was a great course.
And happy with my 23.29. Still a good couple of mins of my PB but improving still... and I'm now officiallly declaring myself fully fit again!
(The...
