Indeed.
Olise signed for palace, when other clubs were interested, and seemingly insisted on a release clause (reported to have been £40m).
When it looked like he was agitating for a move last year, and Parish was generally under pressure - they offered him a new deal, basically throwing him all of Wilf's 'saved' wages, in return for a higher release clause (reported widely to be £60m).
No 'f*** ups' by palace there really - just did what they were compelled to do, to sign, and then retain (in the short term), their best player.

Are the palace fans still waving their bed sheets in protest at their matches? no shared vision, no structured plan. Parrish out. Yanks out.
Is that still a thing for them or has getting a new manager, getting their best players back and winning a few games suddenly convinced them that actually there is a shared vision and structured plan?

To be fair - that is pretty much what happens on NSC every time we lose or draw a match that we think we should win. However, our good friends up the road just take it that bit farther and it manifests at home games or London away games (as they don't tend to travel outside the M25 in numbers).

The problem is Sunday, we may have a fired up United whilst Palace have “on the beach” Villa!
Why would United be fired up?- they will be resting up for the Cup Final . IMO

For this to be an issue, Man U will have to beat Newcastle tonight. And even then the highest they could finish is 7th if Chelsea beat us, and I'm not sure the Conference League has quite the same motivation for them.

European places?
I'm a bit confused this season about European places. The highest United could finish if they beat us is seventh - is that still a Conference place ?

It is if City win the FA Cup; sixth is a Europa Conference League place at present because of Liverpool’s Carabao Cup win.
I don’t come on hear to big up palace as you know, but the palace U 21s beat PSV in the premier league international cup last night which looks good for future players.

I doubt Man Utd will be that fired up, tbh.
They are 8th and while 7th will probably be a Conference place, I doubt a club of that size will be all that interested. And on paper, Newcastle have an easier game than they do so they probably think it has gone anyway. Plus obviously they'll be considering resting players for the cup final.
We simply have to beat them to finish top half and above the Nigels.

If we DRAW 0-0, and Palace beat Villa 3-2 (or 1-1 and 4-3, etc) then the Albion and Palace will finish with identical tallies of 49pts / -5GD / 55GF / 60 GA...
That 'consolation' goal Welbeck scored last night, might just be important.

Not a chance that Chelsea are on the beach. A win, and a Spurs defeat would see them finish 5th, and in the Europa League instead of the Conference.

So Conference is 6th this year? On that basis, Man U cannot realistically make Europe so should be resting players on Sunday.
