Your mate is in denial (or possibly partially sighted?). The guy (Martinez, rather than your mate) is an absolutely horrific, snide, weapon.

And I disagree with the other poster above who declares that 'if he were ours, we'd love him'. I for one wouldn't - he's a total prick.
Worry not, there is no chance of a World Cup winning goalkeeper staying here longer than a month after winning a WC.

Really dislike him and how he has never been sent off for his time wasting shitehousery in games Villa are winning by one goal is unbelievable.

How long has it been since one of those games, where we're a goal down after 10 minutes .... The opponent waste time and shithouse mercilessly, with the hapless officials utterly indifferent and the crowd going splenetic .... however .... breakthrough .... we score on 75 mins. Incredible, we score again soon after.

All of a sudden ... Martinez, or Leno or Pickford or whoever are racing to get the every ball ...... But this time the shoe is on the other foot ..... there is no ball for the goal kick ... the crowd is holding onto it and the ball boy is about 4 and looks confused. The manager "accidentally" over hits a pass to the oppo to take a thrown in. They are livid and the manager takes the booking. Time runs out and justice ...... delicious delicious justice .... is served.

Surely the most satisfying of football matches. A smile on your face for a week type match?

When was the last one? Feel like ages

This has been the game I want us to win more than any other PL game this season. I expect to end up disappointed though.

Best news of the day - this weapon has injured his hamstring, hopefully nothing trivial.
Popped along to share similar news.

As if we've not been robbed of enough joy recently, we won't even get to BOOOOOOO that **** Martinez.

I blame @Stat Brother, naturally.

If Spurs lose to Chelsea on Thursday, Villa will be pretty much assured of 4th spot. They'll never get to 3rd. So will their motivation be low? Are we going to witness two teams who can barely get up to sprint pace? The battle of the great demotivated. Might be like Friday afternoon in the office (not that anyone is in an office on a Friday afternoon these days!).

I was thinking it might be funny if instead of boo’ing Martinez we cheered him in a really over the top way whenever he touched the ball - it might be weird enough for him to get confused and make a mistake.

Given how shaky Olsen was for Villa when he came in this can only be good news

If we pick the same midfield I’m not sure if we’d know if we’re up to sprint pace. Sadly I think that WAS them sprinting on Sunday

I wish I'd done this thread for everyone else who have humiliated us, this year.

Mystic Stat strikes again.

Fed up with trains. Sick of the rain.
I'm pretty much in full on Keegan mode for this one.....I would LOVE it if we beat then etc. I've gone from being entirely indifferent about Villa to utterly detesting them.

I think, however, our best chance of points in what's left of this season 8s likely to come against Man Utd. Another team raddled with injuries and a manager seemingly without a plan B. Albeit what ten Hag's plan A was us also unclear.

If he can't scoop up a couple of waffs at the ball lollipopped straight at him he needs to find a new career.

villa absolutely the last team i’d want to play at the moment. cannot think of another team other than arsenal and city, who are more likely to put five or six past us. of course we all know what this means…
