It was horrible seeing these images of terrified horses bolting through traffic this morning with one covered in blood - I haven’t been able to get the poor thing from my mind all day - thank goodness there appears to be no fatalities for either riders/bystanders or the horses. Horses all back at their stables and humans receiving hospital care with horses receiving veterinary care - It could have been so much worse. Well done the police for rounding up the horses and keeping them from sustaining further injury - sounds like they did a great job putting themselves at risk to help the animals and riders/public.

It was a bystander who bravely caught the dark horse and people comforting it. A soldier was injured but is ok. The Household Cavalry were exercising as normal when builders spooked the horses and five broke loose. A bus lost its window.
A vet has declared the horses are ok.

Worthing
Joking apart, I missed this by minutes as I arrived at Victoria just after it had happened. There was a damaged vehicle and an injured person in the road in Buckingham Palace Road (being tended to by paramedics) and one of the horses was being held by the pavement by a bystander. There were already quite a few emergency vehicles there.

Just glad that all the horses and injured parties seem to be ok, as loose horses in a panic could have caused some serious damage to themselves as well as people, vehicles and property.

A bit ironic that they were spooked by a building site (apparently) as they are supposed to be trained to remain calm when guns are fired and the like.

Well knowing building sites they were probably spooked by the lack of activity rather than noise 😉
