Thanks to the vagaries of the Lord’s ticket ballot I’ve ended up with three days in a row at the West Indies test in July

Then alongside the other cricket, Euros, tennis, cycling and Olympics / Paralympics I’ll be arguing with people who only follow the football league who moan about there being “no sport” on (yes, Danny Baker, you included).

Mainly filling the time with lots of gigs. Currently have four booked in for June, but could end up at as many as seven that month as things stand between ones I still need to book, and ones I might be able to get a ticket to through work.

Followed by a much anticipated return to 2000 Trees Festival with a load of mates in July. Had the best time there in 2022 and bought my ticket for this year before any bands had been announced. Lots to look forward to across various genres I'm into, and it's the best vibe in terms of attendees I've ever experienced at a festival.

Having done two ski holidays this year my knees are now absolutely f***ed. I'll need to rest them on a couple of Mediterranean beaches in the next few months, and some weekends or midweek breaks at UK hotels putting a few miles on my mid life crisis. I have very simple tastes

I know the feeling well, the week after, going down stairs wasn’t grimace free.

A load of stretching/yoga type stuff can really help. Before, during and after the last trip.

Riding over to Normandy with my Husband a friend of ours in June. Praying for dry weather. Me on my Kawasaki Z400, Hubby on the Ducati Monster and our friend on Kawasaki 1000cc sports tourer. Really looking forward to it.

More frequent golf rounds over the summer and have our traditional 36 hole tournament at East Sussex National in September which is always a great couple of days

First international family holiday since Covid, only Majorca but the kids can’t wait.

Improve my overall fitness as the excuses for stopping smoking and eating what I like have finished! Also 70 days until we are away

Greatly looking forward to the summer.

Will immerse myself in all things Olympics - especially the Track & Field. Plus its my daughter’s first season competing at Regional League level in the 800m and 1500m so weekends will be spent at her athletics matches, nervously messing about with her spikes and generally irritating her.

When I was a teenager I lost 3 mates on bikes but accepted that was what happened when you're a kid and take risks. A couple of years ago an absolutely lovely mate was killed having spent over 40 years riding and racing bikes and through absolutely no fault of his own.

Have a great time, but please be extra extra careful

I'm really looking forward to spending a couple of weeks with a friend in France: city break in Bordeaux, then TGV to Paris to watch the Olympics rowing, canoeing and equestrian. Followed by a few days in Brussels from where we plan to tour the WW1 battlefields and memorials - which I'm particularly looking forward to...although terrified about driving for the first time in years (in another country to boot!)

Started my daily swims in the pool on Sunday (as it's reached a reasonable temperature). Have combined this each day with 20km bike riding. Off to watch an excellent rock guitarist in my local bar in an hour. That will be, to a greater or lesser extent, my routine for the next few months, interspersed with the Euros, the Olympics, and old uni mates' reunion long weekend in Valencia in May. I take my holidays away in the winter.

Nothing planned, but may pop over to the States for a couple of weeks, otherwise will wait until the first international in September to get away for a city break in Europe.

Yes, that is why we gave up riding for 23 years while we brought up our daughter. We know the risk, but getting back on a motorcycle gave me back a life I had almost given up on, I had bad depression bought on by pre-menopause and could not find anything to look forward too and just didn’t see the point of anything. I had great confidence when I was young and zero by then. Getting back on the bike scared the living daylights out of me, but it made me feel alive again and if I feel a bit low now I can go for a ride and feel better.

l know that no matter how careful we are there is always an element of risk, most from other road users, who drive around with their head up their arse.

Was planning on a cheeky little trip to Dubrovnik with the Mrs to help distract me from the 3 months of incessant booing I'll be doing at our lack of signings and RDZ leaving.
We were there in September 2022.

It’s touristy like Venice is, but we had a cracking good time. You can hire jet skis and do cliff jumping from a bar, if that’s your thing, or just chill on a beach, walk the ruins, do the GOT stuff or just eat and drink yourself silly.

Very expensive by Croatian standards though.

It's mid winter here but hotter and drier than the summer.
No holidays here as we are getting some more stock for our small holding and I'll be upgrading our smoker.
The Euros and Copa Americas will give me some entertainment. Haven't watched Olympics or Tennis for quite a few years.
