Mrs Cottager is planning a fun day out tomorrow along the Old Shoreham Road, shopping for bathroom tiles and possibly sofas. I'm expected to be in attendance. We always used to go to the tile shop on New England Street on the site now occupied by the yuppie tower block. Any recommendations for tile shop, please? I know there's a Topps Tiles out near Majestic on the OSR, but any others within the city limits? Ta.

The last bathroom we had re-tiled, the tiler took one look and exclaimed 'You've bought porcelain f***ing tiles'. I think he was impressed

There used to be a really good tile shop in Montefiore road in Hove but don't know if it's still there. Hope this helps.

If you're on a budget, B & Q or Wickes, if you want to splash out a bit more Topps Tiles or Master

Or on Old Shoreham Road at Southern Cross

We used Master Tiles on Old Shoreham Road for our bathroom and en-suite a couple of years ago. Customer service was excellent and we've been very happy with our tiles. Even happier when our bathroom chap took so much care getting everything lined up perfectly. He said he'd prefer not to do the tiling himself but tilers he'd employed just weren't up to his standard.

Bit further afield but JW Ceramics in Newland Road Worthing has been around for about sixty years and has a very wide range of tiles.

This is all brilliant, thanks. As I write this, I'm about to go to bed & she's still in a cocktail bar with other mums of a certain age. So a local trip to Hollingbury in the late afternoon tomorrow will probably be all she can manage!
