Yep.

Give the lowest earners extra money and they will spend every last penny, benefitting everyone in the economy.
Give the richest people extra money and they will buy assets to increase their wealth and take money out of the economy.

The economic policies of the past 40 years have created the problems we now have in society.

There will be many genuine cases of people needing help, and government cuts will mean some of them miss out. There will also be chancers out there who cheat the system.

Rubbish - all the proles buy is black market fags, drugs, bootlegged booze and 72" flatscreen TVs off the back of a lorry.

But I saw a stat the other day that showed a record 54.2% of people (36 million) now live in households which received more in benefits than they contributed in taxes, which is a little disturbing. Would be good to see the stats without pensioners.

It does feel like this country and especially the youth (yes I know they have it hard) are pretty work shy these days. Hard to recruit in retail for instance since Brexit.

12.6 million pensioners apparently. Of course, if there's a household where one person is a pensioner, and the other isn't yet - that will count as two people. So - more than 12.6 million out of the 36 million.

It just annoys and angers me that this sort of hypocrisy is never brought up when he’s being interviewed.

The interviewer asks him / any Tory politician a question. They refuse to answer it and instead of asking a series of difficult questions, they just let them get away with refusing to answer the same question until time runs out.

We need some tougher media and news personalities.

Time to try a radical new approach to politics, But if you think Starmer will give it to you, disappointment will surely follow.

Only the great Sir Robin Day comes close to Paxo when it comes to tough media personalities IMO. And even Paxo couldn't get an answer out of another Tory idiot. Did I say "idiot"? Sorry, I meant "leader"

I just listened to Sunak's speech - any changes would happen in the next parliament under a Tory government.

SO, THEY'RE NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!!!

You’d never get any of this mob in front of Paxman .

They tend to stick to fluff pieces on breakfast telly or sounbites from some canning plant in Milton Keynes that nobody will ever see.
