City might end up winning nothing this season…… though I doubt it

Villa could be our only representative in the European semi-finals. When was the last time we had such a small representation?

The amount of times I've seen players do a little dinked pen straight down the middle and thought if the keeper just stands there instead of diving. Glad we've seen that happen tonight. Just looks like a stupid pen, but apparently ballsy if you score

It’s interesting cos we get it rammed down our throats (by the media) that the EPL is the best league in the world. Yes it may have the most money, the most viewers, the best marketing and the greatest media coverage. It also pays the highest wages. But does it make it the best?

The CL semi final line up would beg to differ.

The double's still very much on. Clear favourite in the league with their run-in.

Get past the billion pound bottle jobs at the weekend and it's United or Coventry in the Final.

A treble last season, a double this. And 4 Premier Leagues in a row. I think they'd take that.

Indeed.

But no surprise at all that the team who defended and blocked their way to a shootout won it. Happens so very often.
I think it’s always plan. Stay in it see what happens. Don’t lose in in the first 20

It really will be fabulous for English football if they don't find a way to wriggle out of their 115 charges.

Real Madrid always seem to bumble their way to the trophy.

At 8pm tonight they wouldn’t. Not winning the CL this season is failure.
True enough. As champions, an inability to retain the trophy is by nature failure.

But they'd only won it once unlike the serial winners of Real, so it was always likely to be a close-run thing.

That said and probably against my better judgement, I've got a sneaky feeling for PSG this year with the Olympics in the summer.

Greece won the Euros in 2004 when they hosted the Olympics. In a one-off game, Mbappe could well be the match-winner..

Ici c'est Paris.

2019-20 Man Utd were our only team in the Semi Finals. They lost to Sevilla in the Europa League SF.

Due to Covid all games in Europe from the QF onwards were decided over 1 leg and played at a neutral venue in that season.

I’m not shedding any tears for Abu Dhabi FC, but can anyone explain to me how removing away goals is a good thing. Real Madrid played most of that game like a Sean Dyche side.
18 goals across the 1st legs of the QFs
14 goals across the 2nd legs of the QFs

I'd say thats a justification. The fear of the (over-valued) away goal has been removed, which has led to some ridiculous ties. Its one of the few things UEFA has got right, IMO.

Admiration for a petro state that cheated on an industrial scale?
You're reaching there. :)

All of my comments were regarding the likelihood of City winning a double, and previous on-field success.
