If you're trying to drum up support for the game from a bunch of NSC duffers you'd probably get more success if you promote the "beat Palace" narrative, than "come and support a fantastic, pioneering, Sussex-based women's team who are sadly on the brink of slipping out of the Championship having been out-monied by bigger clubs who have suddenly decided women's football is cool."

It's a bit like giving your cat worming tablets. You can try "now come on, pussycat, these medications are good for you and will prevent nasty parasitic illnesses". Or you can pop the tablet in a bit of chicken a say "hmm, tasty chicken, well done Tiddles, WELL DONE!".

Frankly, any Lewes narrative with the intention to increase numbers is probably worth trying, regardless of how it's angled here.
