Hello everyone!
Happy Wednesday.

This Sunday, Lewes take on Crystal Palace in the Championship and we want to extend a hand asking for support from YOU, the amazing Brighton fans.

Why?

Well, if Lewes win, we can stop Palace from winning the league!! Despite being 2 different clubs, I think we both hate Palace...

We would love to have you down. A nice non league ground with local beers and a BBQ. Plus a DJ after the game!

Just for you loyal supporters who we want to join forces with, we want to offer a special 25% discount. The code to use at checkout? 'SUSSEXVEAGLES'

You can get the tickets here - https://buytickets.at/lewesfootballclub2/975945/r/north-stand-1

It would be amazing if you can help us take that extra step in beating Palace!!

Think you might have missed one important point in your rallying cry.
The good news is that if it doesn't work out for the OP at Lewes, a job at BBC Sport surely awaits.

Odd narrative….should be mostly focused on avoiding relegation…..! I see Scott is off at the end of the season too, no surprise really. Relegated his last club (Birmingham) too didn’t he ?

Perhaps not that odd a narrative. If you're trying to drum up support for the game from a bunch of NSC duffers you'd probably get more success if you promote the "beat Palace" narrative, than "come and support a fantastic, pioneering, Sussex-based women's team who are sadly on the brink of slipping out of the Championship having been out-monied by bigger clubs who have suddenly decided women's football is cool."

It's a bit like giving your cat worming tablets. You can try "now come on, pussycat, these medications are good for you and will prevent nasty parasitic illnesses". Or you can pop the tablet in a bit of chicken a say "hmm, tasty chicken, well done Tiddles, WELL DONE!".

Fair point, but it’s at least worth a mention

Agreed.

Frankly, any Lewes narrative with the intention to increase numbers is probably worth trying, regardless of how it's angled here.

Just 403 at the evening game when they played Palace at home in the League Cup back in October.

Paying spectators are ultimately more important than whether the narrative is 'beat Palace, 'stay up' or anything else.

The women's evening games always seemed to be badly attended compared to the weekends when I was going regularly - mostly the lack of families taking their young kids I guess.
