How did Paddy McCourt not get to the final? He was the definition of flair, so much unfulfilled talent, now living in a hedge somewhere in Ireland
Indeed.

English & European
I remember the pre season friendly against Liverpool where Vicente made at the top of his game Steven Gerrard look like a pub footballer.

Promised so much but delivered so few moments of brilliance when it mattered.
I remember a preseaon game against Chelsea and League cup match against Liverpool but not a friendly against Pool.

The League cup match was Vicente's debut but Gerrard also came off the Liverpool bench as he himself was coming back from injury.

Both games, when on the pitch, Vicente was running the show

I don't think being a sulky moody person contributes to being flair. Yes, I did meet him (Vicente)at the Players dinner. He sat in a corner ignoring everyone.

Knocky gave all he had for us, had some rough times in his personal life, but surely coming out of the players entrance to stand on the grassy bank outside the North Stand, after the Wigan game, arms wide open, announcing to fans 'I'm f****** steaming' is flair. :lolol:
He also led the singing from the West Stand, standing next to Bloom and Barber.

His team mates loved him too, enough to traipse over to France to support him during his Dad's funeral.

It should have been a Vicente/McCourt final. I would have then really struggled to decide, with Paddy perhaps nicking it.

Vicente destroys Knocky here.

Knocky is even less flair than Kazenga.
Kazenga has quite a lot going for him in the flair stakes;

- Trademark Celebration.
- Could be brilliant, could be awful.
- Endless stepovers then usually ended whatever he was doing by falling over. He fell over a LOT.
- Unique playing style - very bandy legs.
- Once hit a free kick so hard the camera couldn't keep up with it.
- Pointlessly declared for Democratic Republic of Congo but never bothered playing for them.
- From a famous footballing family.
- His first name is KAZENGA.

Comfortably more flair than Knockaert.

I saw Knockaert acting the bollocks at the casino once, put me off him a little. I think Vicente is just an introvert

It has to be Vicente, and I speak as someone who gave Knockaert the nod over Worthington.

Vicente wins for 2 reasons:

1) We've seen some truly great players play us (notably for me Eden Hazard and Mo Salah) yet Vincente's performances for us mean he can be included in that same company. He was top class, so exciting.

2) Brighton opened the Amex in 2011 and immediately made this Vicente statement signing that told the football world BHAFC are more than just a new stadium, they mean business. The bloke was only 30 and had just helped Valencia to 3rd place in La Liga and a Champions League place. Indeed, what team coming up from League One have ever made a signing like that, before or since?

Some of the discussions being had now should have been had a week or two ago.

Cases for McCourt, Kazenga and even Abdul Razak - and I dare say one or two others - have simply not been heard. This competition will need to be done again in a year or so, with a proper debate on why Knocky* has no place in the final.

*A bit like the honey badger.

Again have gone Knocky as I nominated him but I'm happy with either. A true pair of FLAIRISTAs
Ditto.

cannot compare level that the 2 played at, and in flashes you could see the sheer sublime quality of Vicente.

That said, for consistent and meaningful flair it's Knocky for me.

Our Talisman, a true fan favourite, got us fans, got the club and at times, single handedly dragged us to victory.

Signed off his flair with top corner at Selhurst and sticking his tongue out to the Sainsburys end helmets.

I still love him.

Vicente is the only Brighton player I've watched who looked like he was literally magic. I'd watch him and just not understand how he made the ball do what he did. And the fact his appearances were so sporadic and random really added to the mystique. It was like having a mythical creature in the squad

I think we really need to sort out this definition of flair.

The least flair player of all time is Harry Kane. There will be no further discussion on this fact.

The most flair player of all time IMO is either Nathan Jones when he had that funny blonde thing on his head or Mario Balotelli at the exact moment he got substituted in a pre-season friendly against LA Galaxy for trying and failing to backheel the ball into the net.

Everything in between is up for debate, but I would propose those two at each end of the scale.
What about Balotelli’s firework display in his bathroom or his reason for 25k on the front seat of his car when stopped, off field flair there

Stomping on someone’s head and managing to stay on the pitch not so flair though.

I voted Knocky
